HAPPY NEW YEAR!
First things first, let’s toss out the idea that we need to have our entire year figured out by January 1st. If you're like me, you might find yourself a few weeks into the new year before you even start thinking about goals and plans. And guess what? That's perfectly okay.
Embrace the "Better Late Than Never" Mindset
I'm here to remind you (and myself, honestly) that it's never too late to start. That's right, whether it's January, February, or hell, even September – any time is a good time to set intentions and goals. Think about it this way: every day is a new beginning, a fresh start. It’s never too late to start.
The 1% Improvement Philosophy
Now, I’m a big fan of the idea of being just 1% better every day. It’s simple, yet so powerful. Instead of overwhelming ourselves with massive, life-altering changes, why not focus on tiny, manageable improvements? These small steps are much easier to stick to and they really add up over time. Imagine being 365% better by the end of the year!
James Clear, the author Atomic Habits — a book I absolutely adore — calls this philosophy “Continuous Improvement.” He discusses it in-depth in an insightful blog post, which you can read here.
Progress, Not Perfection
Perfection is a myth, and chasing it can actually hold us back. I’ve learned that it’s all about progress. So, if you haven’t started your New Year prep yet, don’t sweat it. You’re not behind. You’re right where you need to be. The key is to start – no matter how small that start may be.
Planning for the New Year, Anytime
Who says planning for the year can only happen in January? The truth is, planning can happen anytime. The important thing is to get clear on what you want to achieve and take steps, however small, toward your goals. Grab a notebook, a planner, or just a piece of paper, and jot down what you’d like to accomplish.

Embracing the Journey
This year, I’m focusing on enjoying the journey. It’s not just about the destination or the end goal. It's about the experiences, the learnings, and the growth that happens along the way. So let's embrace every step, celebrate the small victories, and remember that every day is an opportunity to move forward.
So, to anyone feeling like they're already behind in 2024: take a deep breath, give yourself a little grace, and remember that every day is a chance to start anew. Here's to making 2024 our year, no matter when we start!

needed this so much. i hate that new year anxiety that everything has to fall in line the first week of january or else the whole year is wasted. even worse when you have adhd 🥴i have multiple hardships against me, so trying each day to improve something is worth it despite what grind/girlboss culture says!!!
